Welcome Back, this weeks blog post is going to be different, i’m going to talk about a lot of cool jobs you can get in the fashion industry! I covered one of the jobs in a separate blog titled “Visual Merchandising” ! There are many other jobs you can get in the fashion industry, I’ve been applying to a lot of them now since i’ll be receiving my Bachelors degree in visual merchandising in a couple of weeks!

Retail Store Manager

Retail Store Manager- This is a great way to get started in the fashion industry. By managing a store with shows leadership skills and lets you see the ins and outs of retail! A lot of the jobs i have been applying for so far have been management position, I think its a great place to start and grow from. A lot of Manager position calls for an outgoing, friendly and Team player! Without a degree it could take years to move up to a management role or you would of have had to already manage a store.

Professional /personal stylist- This job is very fun but can also be very stressful! This could be dressing multiple people or just one individual at a time! This could be done at a local store or they have celebrity stylist! I just finished watching a show on Netflix this week called styling Hollywood ! it was a really good show, it is reality based that covers the life of a celebrity stylist, which shows all the ins and out of his job.

How to Become a Fashion Buyer in the US

Fashion Buyer- This is a fun job that requires a lot of traveling! A buyer goes to different show rooms and fashion shows to see current and future trends that they can buy for a retailer. This is also a job i looked into myself! It requires a lot of math and 6 months plans and also looking at past sales. A buyers biggest fear is for something to go on clearance, that means there predictions were not correct!

Creative director are responsible for the overall theme look and design of a store! They are responsible for the stores layout each season and comes up with trending colors and styles! This job goes hand and hand with the visual merchandiser!
