We had someone from LinkedIn come in and talk to our social media class, I figured this is a good week to talk business looks and getting the job! As a senior I’ve had multiple interviews. I’m looking for jobs not only in Retail but Home office locations. I’m going to show different looks for different interviews and ways to look stylish and professional! Along with adding interview tips at the end!

Gingham Pants – Some of the interviews I have been on are for retail stores, in this case there is no reason for me to wear a full suit! The picture above is a great example of business casual wear for an interview! This checkered/ Gingham styled pants are really popular and trendy, its a nice change up from just regular black slacks! These pants pair really well with loafers just like the ones she has on in the picture! For a more business look you can add a solid button up and black flats!

Paper bag pants-This is another trendy style to do for an interview! These are cute and comes in multiple prints, colors, and styles these can switch up the outfit! The tie and the front is really slimming and trendy. Theses pants go great with heels or flats! and can also be worn with a button up shirt and blazer.

long flowing skirts– This are a good alternative for the typical knee length skirt you always see in the office. This is more on the business casual side but with the right blazer shoes and shirt this could also be transformed into an office look! These also come in multiple colors!

Blazer– A blazer is a key staple that will go with any business or business casual look! The classic black is a must, but they come in multiple colors which can really spice up the look. For an interview I would stick to a neutral color preferably black, nothing to loud. But after getting the job if the company allows, having color can be really fun to switch up in!

Loafers– personally I love these shoes, a lot of people think these are grandma shoes or look really old fashion. But loafers are really trendy and add a different look to the outfit! These are a good alternative to the basic flats! These are also perfect with an everyday outfit as well!

White button up– All these outfits that i have talked about so far have one thing in common the white button up. This along with the blazer is another classic interview piece! This could be worn alone with slacks or with the blazer! This is essential and a staple to have in your closet year around.

Here is a typical dos and don’ts chart for an interview! These can be really helpful. One of the big things on this chart is large jewelry, wearing this can be very distracting and take attention away from you. This also goes for make up always keep a natural look. Also just being very confident and prepared is one of the biggest thing to remember during your interview , Good Luck!
